It's never to early to foster your child's engineering and building skills in this super cool program. Robo Pets (ages 5-7)  In this course, your builder will begin their exploration into the world of robotics by building simple, animal-inspired machines that are controlled by icon-based program codes. We will teach your little learner some fundamental engineering and programming concepts as they build goofy animals and design perfect habitats to protect their new robotic friends, maybe you can't have an alligator as a pet at home, but you can definitely build one in our classroom at Snapology!Science of Superpowers (ages 5-7)In this program children will learn about the science behind their favorite heroes' powers. Students will learn about gravity, aerodynamics, forces, motion and much more as they learn about flight, super villain fights, and superhero vehicles.AttackBots (ages 7-11) I this exciting program, students will build a variety of military-inspired robots that will respond to their programmed commands. While working with a partner to solve the various challenges, your student will be challenged to understand how to effectively utilize a sensor, how different mechanical components can alter the power and speed of their machine, and how programming is challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with games and challenges using the robots they build with their partner. They're going to have a BLAST!Kinderbots (ages 5-7) In this beginner robotics program, your little engineer will begin to explore the world of robotics as they build simple models that teach the fundamentals of robotic design. Whether learning about motors while building drills, and catapults or exploring how to use sensors while playing with a magic wand or a goal kicker, we're certain your child will have a great time while they are learning a ton about robots and how to work effectively with a partner!Real World Robotics (ages 7-11)In Snapology's Real World Robotics class using Lego@ Spike Prime, students interested in technology will create robotic models inspired by real life robotic technologies. Students will learn about gear ratio sensors, simple machines, and programming as they build alarm devices, earthquake detectors, robotic arms, and much more. Your child will have a blast exploring the world of robotic technologies as they build, play and learn.

Three Offerings in this Series with Story Teller Todd Goodwin. Inside "campfire" settings. Skip the mosquitoes, stay for the fun! Every 3rd Tuesday through our summer sessions! That’s a “Good wun” Songs and Stories from around the Campfire 6/17Around the campfire there are no costumes or sets, just the face and voice of the teller who uses the imagination of the listeners to travel to different places in time and space. Mr. Goodwin creates many of the stories he tells from his camping background and growing up as a New England Yankee. He adds to his repertoire from literature and his experience as a teacher of drama and history and the blessings and challenges of everyday life. He sings and plays the harmonica to create a complete “campfire” experience that can be enjoyed anywhere people gather.GOOD 41: Stories from the Studebaker and other cars we’ve loved 7/15New England storyteller Todd Goodwin shares his stories of his families’ cars and their adventures in them from the 1960s. Good 41 refers to the 1941 Studebaker that his dad owned. That wasn’t the only car they enjoyed. Come hear about Oldsmobiles, Ramblers, old VW Micro busses and even a Packard or two. You can even share your story about the first car you ever owned!GROWING UP “GRUBBY” Stories of the 1950s and 60s 8/19Enjoy a humorous set of stories of Todd Goodwin's childhood growing up with his three colorful (some might say kooky) brothers in the 1950s and 1960s. From weekly baths that explain their nickname to the “covered wagon” that ended up in the backyard to road trips and holidays and the dumb things we did as kids which we can laugh at now. See if any of these stories bring back your childhood!About ToddTodd A. Goodwin is a unique performer and teacher who has been encouraging and inspiring others for over forty five years in camps, schools, libraries, churches, community centers, senior centers and just about any place people gather. He is a storyteller, song singer and games player who adds wonder, joy and laughter to any group he encounters.

8:30 PM - 10:00 PM    Stargazing with Tim Brothers - Stargazing Workshop with Tim Brothers (all ages)
Join us at the Fitz on June 30th for an astronomy tour of the night sky over Pepperell. Starting at 8:30PM we will begin the program inside for a short presentation on what we hope to see outside, what equipment is necessary to stargaze and why Pepperell's night sky preservation efforts are special. We will then spend the next hour viewing a variety of objects through telescopes, including the Moon, Mars, an asteroid, star clusters and a nebula. The outside portion of the event is weather dependent and we will communicate any adjustments to the schedule.About the InstructorTim Brothers is a Pepperell resident and the Observatory Manager at MIT’s Wallace Observatory (Westford, MA), where he teaches students how to observe the night sky with robotic telescopes. He also co-founded the Massachusetts chapter of DarkSky International, where he is primarily focused on outdoor lighting policy for communities in the region. Tim was recently awarded a minor planet designation, asteroid (28992) Timbrothers, for his work on near-Earth asteroid detection. Suggested donation per person $5. Can be paid in advance through MyRec or in person at the day of the event.
