About The Instructor:
Cheryl Turgeon has been an ecological gardener for many years. From eating and buying organic products to belonging to an organic CSA for more than 20+yrs, Turgeon has practiced ecological consciousness in their daily life steadily. Turgeon is an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional through NOFA, certified in Native Gardening Principles from the Massachusetts Horticultural Society & has designed meadows & natural landscapes for local land trusts.
Ecological gardening is a combination of science and innovation with respect for nature and biodiversity. The goal is to work with nature, not against it. By protecting soil & water, humans & all wildlife will benefit from the use of native land & plants. With the right application, native plants under the right circumstances, can be self sustaining in their natural habitat. Striving to minimize waste production, by recycling & reusing waste, & reducing the use of non natural items, native land & plants thrives - allowing our local ecosystem to thrive.
Turgeon also previously founded a Fitness Spa that focused on Natural and Organic Products for 21 years. Turgeon also opened Mystic Meadows Gardens - a native plant nursery - in late winter/early spring 2024.
