Join us at the Fitz on June 30th for an astronomy tour of the night sky over Pepperell.

Starting at 8:30PM we will begin the program inside for a short presentation on what we hope to see outside, what equipment is necessary to stargaze and why Pepperell's night sky preservation efforts are special. We will then spend the next hour viewing a variety of objects through telescopes, including the Moon, Mars, an asteroid, star clusters and a nebula. The outside portion of the event is weather dependent and we will communicate any adjustments to the schedule.

About the Instructor
Tim Brothers is a Pepperell resident and the Observatory Manager at MIT’s Wallace Observatory (Westford, MA), where he teaches students how to observe the night sky with robotic telescopes. He also co-founded the Massachusetts chapter of DarkSky International, where he is primarily focused on outdoor lighting policy for communities in the region. Tim was recently awarded a minor planet designation, asteroid (28992) Timbrothers, for his work on near-Earth asteroid detection.

Suggested donation per person $5. Can be paid in advance through MyRec or in person at the day of the event.
